If weather will permit tomorrow, I’ll be joining takbo.ph guys for an LSD run around the The Fort area. Pojie’s plan is do a 22km route but I’m not sure if I can keep up with them knowing how many LSDs these guys have went through. Most of them are half-marathoners so I’m sure I’ll end up eating their dust tomorrow night.
My plan basically is simple. Have fun, bond with these guys and enjoy the long run. One of the things I’ve noticed of my own attitude during my first 10k run last Sunday was I was always looking for kilometer markers, hoping that 10k mark will soon pass by so I can end my agony. After doing search in the internet, I’ve learned that in order to build more mileage, concentrate on the RUN itself rather than hurrying up to wrap up the run. My newbie attitude caused me to get impatient which is not a good attitude during a run.
Hopefully, I’ll learn more from these guys as this is actually the first time I’ll be joining a group of experienced runners.
Ciao!

Yup, Botak all right! I feel kinda embarrassed that it’s going to be my “long run” (the 10k). Been following a 5k schedule and saw that this weekend’s long run day will be for 10k, so why not join a 10k race?.. hehe! Easy run lang and will just aim to finish. Nice blog, subscribed na to your RSS feed.

Hi Ria,
Thanks again! Hey I’m currently correlating pictures of former fat people who are now thin and if you used to be fat, would you mind sending before and after pics, your fattest weight and current weight and tips? So far I got images from Luis, Rodel,Tim and still accepting postings. My aim is to encourage people to be more active and show them the results of people who lose weight by running. By the way, you can join running addicts at takbo.ph shoutbox (sa left side ng website).
Aim to finish the race injury free. My best 10k PR was 1:01:45, if you get sub 60minutes wow you’re fast! 10k is pretty long and always don’t count at water stations, ensure you have hydration belt and sports beans/gels as you run along to refuel you. My 2 cents worth.

Sam

Hi Sam,
I started running just last March, and from January I’ve gained 6 lbs. Not a good example ano? But my trainer insists that it’s muscle (because I’ve lost inches all around).. I’ll ask around, will send you pics pag meron.
I don’t think I’ll be aiming for a PR for the Botak 10k, long slow run muna. Re: hydration belt, I don’t have one yet, but my mom gave me a hydration bladder as a gift. Is it ok to use that for the 10k? Or medyo over/dyahe naman yun? He he!
