LSD @ the Fort

TAGS: None

If weather will permit tomorrow, I’ll be joining takbo.ph guys for an LSD run around the The Fort area. Pojie’s plan is do a 22km route but I’m not sure if I can keep up with them knowing how many LSDs these guys have went through. Most of them are half-marathoners so I’m sure I’ll end up eating their dust tomorrow night.

My plan basically is simple. Have fun, bond with these guys and enjoy the long run. One of the things I’ve noticed of my own attitude during my first 10k run last Sunday was I was always looking for kilometer markers, hoping that 10k mark will soon pass by so I can end my agony. After doing search in the internet, I’ve learned that in order to build more mileage, concentrate on the RUN itself rather than hurrying up to wrap up the run. My newbie attitude caused me to get impatient which is not a good attitude during a run.

Hopefully, I’ll learn more from these guys as this is actually the first time I’ll be joining a group of experienced runners.

Ciao!

My Greenfield City Experience

Tags: ,

Greenfield being my first 10k was a good experience after all. Let me tell you how my day started.

I woke up around 3:20am, took a bath, wore my race attire and had a huge banana for breakfast. As you may have noticed my breakfast was very conservative because of my bad experience during Condura when I had a nice carbo overload the night before and took 2 banana as my breakfast on the race day. I ended up suffering from stomach muscle cramp and so I learned from it. I drove my car from Dasma Cavite to Sta.Rosa, it was a smooth ride and I was able to reach the place around 5:05am. This was what greet me when I reached the place: Read the rest of this entry »

Preparing for Greenfield Race

TAGS: None

Tomorrow will be the day I’ll be running my very first 10k. Last time I ran was Thursday and that was running clinic with Mizuno guys at BHS. I probably ran a total of 7k that day but today I’m itching to work my leg muscles so I ran 8k today just to awaken my leg muscles.

I’m not really sure if what I did is right after having asked guys at takbo.ph, I was told I need to rest but others told me I can do it as long as I don’t run the entire  10k today or 80% will do. I was on the safe side so I just did 8k run today. I didn’t feel any pain in my muscle so I think I’m good for tomorrow. My target finish time is between 1hour and 1.25. Anything beyond that is a failure and I can only blame myself for harassing my legs.

Let’s see what will happen tomorrow :)
